BBC’s NORTH WEST TONIGHT programme arrived at LECKENBY’S LICENSED TEA ROOM recently when START FLINDERS was reporting on the upcoming FA Trophy game between Ramsbottom United and AFC Fylde.
As Ramsbottom United were creating history by reaching the last 16 of the prestigious knock-out competition, the BBC were looking at how the game was being planned following the original postponement due to snow.
As Leckenby’s Tony Cunningham is also Secretary at the Rams, the piece began with a visit to the Tearoom and an interview with him by Stuart, who then proceeded to the ground ahead of the match.
The five minute slot featured on that night’s programme and proceeded a game that attracted nation-wide interest as it finished 5-5!
Tony was impressed not only with the football, but with the feature.
